A New Website for Brian Wilson Results in “Good Vibrations” – and a 1,400% Increase in Traffic
We recently redesigned a brand-new website for Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson, our friend and client of over 20 years. The website offers a complete history of Brian’s Beach Boys and solo career. An immersive timeline experience allows visitors to learn more about Brian Wilson’s career with rare photos, unreleased music and Wilson talking about many of his classic songs, through each decade of his life.
The Timeline is also home to Brian’s piano demos to ongs from 1977’s The Beach Boys Love You album. The 1980s is represented by many demos and unreleased tracks Wilson recorded after years of inactivity. The 1990s features key demos, including several from the mid-1990s “Wilson-Paley” sessions. Wilson’s 2007 demos for his That Lucky Old Sun album are also available for the first time.
To help introduce the new Timeline feature, we created an original video, featuring a brand-new remix for Brian’s 1995 demo recording of “Desert Drive,” taking viewers on a desert drive trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

Our website was featured in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and other top music publications and our video, helping to promote the website, went viral. The website was designed using Squarespace 7.1, which enabled us to use some cutting-edge features and dynamically helped tell Brian’s story. Thanks to Brian for providing some great music that has never been heard – it added immeasurably to the success of the new website, with an astounding 1,400% increase in traffic.
We continue to help promote Brian’s latest projects including a new documentary feature, a Beach Boys box set, new solo album and upcoming tour with fun and lively digital marketing efforts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter TikTok, reaching over 600,000 fans daily.
“We love Brian and working with him,” says Designsite’s Michael DeMartin. “He’s truly an American icon and it’s a real privilege to work with Brian. Besides being a genius, he’s a truly nice and humble man, and it was our goal to design and build a website that told Brian’s story that reflected Brian’s place in music history. I’d like to think we accomplished that!”
