An updated website showcases the much anticipated album for the composer and trumpeter

Ambrose Akinmusire is one of the most acclaimed jazz artists of his generation. NPR calls him “a trumpeter of deep expressive resources and a composer of kaleidoscopic vision.” We started working with Ambrose over a year ago when he called us to tell us he liked our work for other jazz artists we worked with. It was a real compliment, because we’d already been big fans and there was a period where you couldn’t get his award-winning “The Imagined Savior is Far Easier to Paint” off our turntable.

We designed a brand new website for Ambrose to best reflect his status in the music business, helping to promote his 2018 Best-of-the-Year album “Origami Harvest.” As we do for our other music artists, we design the website to be consistent with the album graphics, including photography, color scheme and typography. We can do this swiftly using our preferred CMS, Squarespace. We’ve been a Squarespace Expert from the beginning and we’re able to design beautiful and cost-effective websites for our clients.

Last Friday Ambrose called us to let us know he had a new album coming out on the classic Blue Note label this June 5. Since the album release was already announced and Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms has already started offering the first single, we needed to work fast. We worked with Ambrose to update his website to reflect his upcoming album’s stark black and white photography and typographic design, as well as the exclusive preview track and a first interview with NPR.

Now it’s Monday, and we’ve seen the website traffic spike (thanks to Squarespace’s great Analytics feature), so it’s great to see that the word is getting out and to ensure the exposure Ambrose requires in this time of social distancing and no live dates.
