Their services include home theatre design, networking, surveillance and they recommend top brands like Sonos, Control4, JVC and others, depending on the project. It would be easy to simply show a lot of pictures of equipment on the website, but it wouldn’t set them apart from their competition – most of whom do this on their websites.

So, it was our idea to create more of a lifestyle brand website, that would better engage new visitors. A lifestyle brand doesn’t lead with product – it leads with lifestyle. While this may sound obvious, many businesses will struggle with this shift in messaging. It’s about focusing less on products that a company sells and more about what inspires and motivates your audience. As you’ll see in the photo above, rather than showing the latest audio and video equipment, the homepage features a woman at home, relaxed, perhaps listening to music in a serene setting. This helps to create an emotional connection for the website visitor. An image of comfort and relaxation, even more meaningful in these times of COVID-19. And the headline supports the imagery. And while interested visitors will want to know what DVE offers in terms of product, an inside website page (see image at right) displays images of equipment within the confines of a warm home environment.

This shift has proved to be more than successful. Not only has DVE set itself apart from their competition, who are pretty much all doing the same thing, but website traffic has dramatically increased, leading to a real sales growth.
